Rein in terrorists operating from your soil: India to Pak Referring to reports about a large number of terrorists looking to infiltrate from across the LoC, the spokesperson said “a stern warning has been conveyed to Pakistan Army to restrain terrorists operating from its soil’’.

A day after three soldiers and two armed intruders were killed in an attack on an Indian patrol in Sunderbani sector along the Line of Control (LoC), India on Monday issued a stern warning to Pakistan, asking the neighbouring country to rein in terrorists operating from its soil and take back bodies of its “hostile nationals’’.

“Pakistan Army has been informed through established communication channels to take over the bodies of the hostile Pakistani nationals,’’ an Army spokesperson said in a statement. Pointing out that the slain intruders were in combat dress, the spokesperson said their identities could not be ascertained.

The dead intruders were part of a group of at least five Pakistani nationals who had crossed the LoC and attacked an Indian Army patrol around 1.20 pm, killing three soldiers and injuring another. In the ensuing gunfight, two intruders were gunned down. While Havildar Kaushal Kumar of Nowshera, Lance Naik Ranjeet Singh of Ramban district and Rifleman Rajat Kumar Basan of Pallanwala were killed in the attack, Rifleman Rakesh Kumar of Samba was injured.

Referring to reports about a large number of terrorists looking to infiltrate from across the LoC, the spokesperson said “a stern warning has been conveyed to Pakistan Army to restrain terrorists operating from its soil’’.

The spokesperson added that the Indian Army has foiled seven infiltration bids and killed 23 terrorists since May 30. The soldiers killed in the attack were cremated at their native places on Monday.
